Giving Back
Our foundation’s primary focus is the kids, but is inclusive of the family as a whole. These kids come to Libre Infancia 7 days a week where they receive education, daycare, nutrition, therapy and healthcare.
The children we help are victims of such extreme poverty its hard for us to envision. They’re byproducts of the landfills/garbage dumps of Zona 3, in Guatemala City. Unfortunately, these are sons and daughters of people who have worked and lived in these landfills for generations, thus perpetuating a vicious cycle of poverty. This unfortunate childhood creates a very difficult path to mature into productive adults.
The Foundation Development of Guatemala FUNDESA, is a private, non-profit organization, conformed by business men and women, at a personal level, independent of all sector, guild, or partisan interests. It was founded in 1984 because of several Guatemalan’s interest in generating and implementing programs and projects that could promote sustainable economic and social development in Guatemala.
FUNDESA works to contribute to the integral, sustainable and democratic development of Guatemala, in a market economy and in a State with Rule of Law, through the consolidation of an independent and representative organization that generates proposals with a proactive and responsible long term points of view, to fix key issues that affect the development of Guatemalans.
The Union Church of Guatemala has created a food bank to benefit friends, brothers and sisters in Christ who are in need throughout our country. Through your generous support, we have been able to bless families in different places in Guatemala. Your help has come to these families in times of desperate need including economic crisis due to the Covid pandemic, natural disasters (such as storms Eta and Iota), sickness and loss.
